When Problems Feel Too Big: God’s Solution for the Impossible

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

Have you ever stared at a problem so massive, so overwhelming, that your mind just… gave up? I’m talking about those situations where every solution you can think of leads to another dead end. Where the mountain feels too high, the debt too deep, or the relationship too broken.

Breaking down what “impossible” really means:

When we say something is impossible, we’re really saying it’s beyond our current resources, knowledge, or strength. But here’s what I’ve learned through years of walking with Christ – what’s impossible for us is never impossible for God. The key word here is “us.” Our limitations aren’t God’s limitations.

The problem with “unsolvable” thinking:

I once worked with a man named David who was drowning in $80,000 of debt after his business failed. He’d run every calculation, explored every option, and concluded it was mathematically impossible to recover. David had fallen into what I call “finite thinking” – believing that his current resources were all he’d ever have access to.

But here’s where transformation begins:

David started each morning with Philippians 4:19: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Instead of focusing on the impossibility, he began asking God for wisdom, opportunities, and favor. Within two years, through a series of unexpected connections and opportunities that seemed to come from nowhere, David not only cleared his debt but launched a thriving consulting business.

So with all that said, here’s the spiritual shift that changes everything:

Stop asking “How can this be solved?” and start asking “God, what are you trying to teach me through this?” Sometimes what we call “unsolvable problems” are actually invitations to deeper faith and character development.

Romans 8:28 reminds us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This doesn’t mean every problem gets solved the way we want, but it means God can bring good from any situation.

Your small step today:

Choose one “impossible” situation in your life. Instead of trying to solve it today, spend 10 minutes praying about it. Ask God to show you what He wants you to learn, who He wants you to become through this challenge, or what new perspective He wants to give you.

Remember: God specializes in impossible situations. That’s where His power shows up most clearly.

What’s one “impossible” problem you’re facing right now that you’re ready to surrender to God’s wisdom and timing?

Always, Adam
